Rangan joined SMBC Aero Engine Lease in July 2026 as AVP Pricing, where he is responsible for pricing of SAEL’s engine transactions and portfolio strategies. He brings strong commercial insight and asset expertise.
Before joining SAEL, Rangan served as Pricing Manager at SGI Aviation, leading the pricing team for the AFS AERO leasing platform and acting as a key interface for private equity investors evaluating aircraft and engine investment opportunities.
His experience spans asset valuation, transactional cost modelling, deal negotiation, technical lease review, and full cycle lease management for aircraft and engines. He also brings project & performance management experience from Airbus in A220, A320 and A350 Family programs.
Rangan holds dual master’s degrees in Aircraft Leasing & Financing (Embry Riddle Aeronautical University – ERAU) and International Air Transport Operations Management (ENAC, Toulouse). He is an ISTAT Scholar and a graduate of the ISTAT PDP in 2025. He also provides guest lectures at ERAU, focusing on transactional modelling and valuation topics.
A lifelong aviation enthusiast, he enjoys plane spotting and collecting aircraft models.
